HOME OFFICE-NEO RESIDENT
Bang Mod
Bangkok, Thailand

DESCRIPTION
Despite the uneven arrangement of bricks at the site, it eventually creates the static look of building mass overall.
The occurrence of new buildings leads to the juxtaposition between the static/calm and flexible activities. According to the diagram, it contains the zig-zag lines which create the sense of unsteadiness and horizontally straight lines which gives more static/inactive feeling.
The application of diagram to the plan is that all plans are arranged according to the behavior of the lines and the spaces, eg. The wall arrangement and the void creation are according to the zigzag lines on the plan, which furtherly be used as a guideline to the floor tile arrangement.

The color tones of the floor tile in the office and the residential space are also differentiated by the activeness of the space in each zone – the lighter tone at the office space to enhance activeness and the darker and richer tone of timber at the residential zone to create the sense of calmness to the space.
PROJECT BACKGROUND & DISCOVERY

The reason that we chose this site is that there are several features around the site – canal, shared green space, other’s land, sub road at the south and the main road to Bangkhunthain 7 alley. It also provide good accessibility to the main road(which cause the buildings to be more suitable for many types of users and office space, eg. cafe, office, restaurant). Moreover, it is more private compared to No. 1-7 in the east(due to the other’s private land in the north). Lastly, it is located next to the green space(provides additional landscape to the design)
SUBJECTIVE
Subjective :The juxtaposition of 2 different things – in this case, between static/inactive and active activities – which are unique for the home office building that contains both super-active activities, such as working, and the calm activities, such as resting on the couch in the private living area.

Objective : To identify the use of each space through the behavior of lines in the diagram, static and nonstatic, and also to create the harmoniously juxtaposition between spaces that contain static and nonstatic activities in each home office.
OBJECTIVE
FACADE DESIGN

It starts from the use of the whole diagram to create the relationship to the site as well as the use of various materials to create the sense of juxtaposition to the surrounding by integrating the method of translucent to the facade. The materials include the steel mesh to create the sense of connection to outside yet still have privacy for the interior usages.
